But it got Multitouch. Which honestly is not very usable at the time. I hope they learn regarding usability something from Apple with its iPad. Acer also brought the Aspire 5738PG Multitouch Notebook. A strange non TabletPC Multitouch mix up. And on a side note the Aspire 5738D is there first 3D Notebook (3D Glasses are included). 
Acer Travelmate C300 Notebook with Windows 7
Once Upon a time not long ago, a big Company decided to listen to the Hardware Manufacturers instead of paying Customer. When that Backfired the Brainwash Project Mojave was conceived. When that Backfired it was clear we got another useless Windows Version on our Hand. Wait hold on for a moment. Did we not perceive this a couple years back. I think it was called Windows Millennium. Just like the Fantasy Name Millennium or Vista suggests there is allot of discovering to do. Why do I have to buy a new Computer or why do I have to accept so many messages and my Computer still gets infected? These are just a few of the reactions I encountered since the release of Windows Vista about a year ago. Ok you are probably asking now where is Windows 7 coming into the Picture. I know I just had to let some steam off first. Now lets move on to the Topic at Hand. Windows 7 on an Acer Travelmate C300.
First off let me start by asking: where have all the 14 inch Tablet PCs gone? That said you will realize that our beloved Acer Travelmate C300 is not fully Windows Vista or Windows 7 conform. Ok in all fairness not many old Computers are Windows Vista Compliant and by all means it does not matter except that Windows 7 Kernel is almost identical to the Kernel used in Vista. In other words even though Windows 7 has been freed effectively of all the nuances from Vista it still requires about the same Drivers.
By the way I am using Windows 7 Build 7022 on an Acer Travelmate C303Xmi with 1GB Ram. The Installation was straight forward. The Image Copy and extraction method of Windows 7 Installation Runtime has been very pleasant. In no Time was Windows up and running. Most Drivers were available from the Acer Website but I did have to get some standard Drivers from the Original Component manufacturer. The one thing that did not work and I could not find a working driver for was the Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller. It does install the driver but will not function correctly and will get replaced after a restart with a Standard VGA Driver. This still works for Office but does not support any 3D Acceleration or Functions like switching the display when turning it. Let us cross our fingers that they will follow up with a Driver that offers at least partial support. But don’t hold your breath for too long, because the Graphics card does not and never will support DirectX 10.
But no worries you can still enjoy your Tablet PC. By now you can choose from a variety of compatible Software to use on your Tablet PC but always remember you dont have 3D Support. On the other Hand you won a great Handwriting Recognition system. And after a while you lose the feeling that you are working under Vista and you will recognize and enjoy the uniqueness of Windows 7. Much like after the useless Windows Millennium experience, XP has been a much appreciated Operating System.
